Every girl I meet who has recently arrived here seems to get some kind of urinary tract infection or bladder infection after about a week.
Anyone else notice this? Coincidence, or is there some cause?

Possibly not drinking enough water. The flight over is SUPER dehydrating. Always be sure that you carry a bottle of water onto the plane and drink at least a couple of liters.

Ok, ok...if you're only flying from Japan, 500 ml should do it!! Laughing

UTIs are caused by bacteria, not by poor diets. But I suspect you knew that and were just trolling.

Give it a few years. The hair on the top of your head will start to fall out. Ever looked at the top of Korean women's heads? They're almost all going bald up there!

I didn't/haven't ever, but I don't eat spicy food or meat and I drink loads of water. Dunno if that's why. I've always had good skin and after nearly a year in Korea it's still good. I'm glad that all the nasty pollution hasn't made my skin bad (dunno what my lungs are like though, but at least I don't smoke!).

I used to never get sick (like once every 3 years) but I've been sick a few times in Korea (colds, Strep throat), probably from working with little children who get sick all the time and don't wash their hands. The terrible hygiene at the hagwon I used to work at didn't help either. After I'd been there for a few months I got Strep throat for the second time and then I got conjunctivitis (caused by the same Streptococcus bacteria that were hurting my throat)! It was NASTY! My eyes were so red! It was soooooo painful and sooooo awful and I still went to work and all the kids ran away screaming because their usual Barbie doll princess teacher looked like a scary monster. I had it for about a week. Sad That and my ex-boss are my worst experiences in Korea so far (but I haven't even been here a year yet!).

I hope that you got some cream for that. It is caused by not washing enough, maybe you should pay more attention to personal hygene.
