Hi
I am an American teacher considering a job in Korea. I have a six year old son who would acompany me, as well as my husband. What I am wondering is if you are not in Seoul, are there any options for foreign
schools or expatriate communities with English speaking kids?
thanks! |

There is an international school in Pusan but it is expensive. I don't know the actual cost. All I know is a co-worker said she couldn't afford to send her son there on the salary she was making here. |

There is one in Daejeon also--I enquired but the cost per student was prohibitive (I have 2 daughters elementary & middle). Good luck in your search. |

I believe there's one out here near Seongnam also. Unaffordable if you're solely on a teacher's salary. |

The International schools are expensive but if you work for one...then your kids usually can go free or at a greatly reduced rate. That is one thing to look into.
The other is home schooling. If you get your schedules organized then someone could be home most of the time and you can homeschool the kids. Many of the ex-pats in HK (when I lived there) who didn't have education in their job packages homeschooled their kids. |
