Hello all,
Since the skiing season is going to start soon, I was wondering if there are any people interested in weekend ski/snowboard trips ?
I work Mon-Fri, so I guess I would be able to go on Friday nights or Saturday mornings.
You can PM me for details and/or to make some plans. |

I think I might be going with a Korean family personally. |

i'm getting my snowboard equipment from home in early January, so i think i'd be down for some trips. i also have a car, but i'm not sure about driving to the mountains...
i'd like to hear from people that have been skiing/boarding here.
are there any decent places near seoul? i've heard about a couple that are 45 minutes close, but i've never heard feedback as to their runs, lifts, crowds, etc.
can anyone share? |

I've been to Jisan Ski Resort. It's about an hour from Suwon. The lines are 45 minutes and the trip down is 5 minutes if you're slow. |

Phoenix Park was ok for the 3 days I went in late December 2004, but there was bugger all cover. Ice pack, and very little snow (man made or otherwise) which meant less than optimal conditions. Didn't get to explore much of the mountain, but the best part was the Popeyes chicken you could sneak up the chair and eat at the top.
I guess it'll depend if it starts snowing over the next few weeks. Although I must say people will be bitterly disappointed if they're from the Pacific northwest, any of the resorts in the Rockies or the Okanagan. The season at BW this is is shaping up nicely, but could definitely do with a few more inches to open the rest of the hill. |

I went to a place called "Alps". About 2 hours northeast of Seoul....
Pretty lame ... and I'm used to skiing in Ontario.
The mountains were just simple little declines. |
