Daughter is scheduled to come home for Christmas Dec 17. She called and said KAL went on strike yesterday.
Do these strikes last long?

Not sure how long it will last.... The busses went on strike here for 2 months - but private bus companies came to the rescue right away. Also there wasnt a fraction of the money involved as flights, so I doubt it will last nearly as long!!

Where is your daughter flying to? Only some flights are being cancelled. I am due to fly out Dec 17 as well, and luckily the flights to my city are still up and running.
