but, of course, all depends on what you want to do
MCS (makati cinema square) and Walter mart are close for shopping & eats.
You can easily walk to Pasay Rd or Buendia (new name is Senator Gil Puyat - no one calls it that) to catch a bus or jeepney to other areas.
But traffic on those streets, especially during rush hour and especially in December, is horrible - best to take an air-con bus and bring a thick book.
You can walk (!) to Greenbelt (i have done it, early am or evenings!) for the malls, eats, nightlife(non-sleazy). Greenbelt does have SOME green area - good for people watching and eats.
Might be a bit noisy since SSH and other roads carry heavy traffic. A room facing Santillian might be quieter.
Do check out Goldilocks for 'halo-halo'! but regular menu items can be terribly sweet.

Makati Central Business District is just a hop-skip and jump away. |
hahaha - just remember that hopping/skipping/jumping in the heat of the day is a killer! |

plenty of new bars in Glorietta 3 (?) and Glorietta, a few around the Atrium, and of course the 'sleazy' stuff around Burgos Street (North Makati area). |
