If you have a flight booked with Korean Air now or in the near future, I'd suggest making a back-up reservation with another carrier. I wish I could go home for Xmas like some of you guys ...
Hey Swiss James~ any drama out at Incheon? |

I read in the newspaper (I don't know which one) that if they strike, the government will step in immediately like they did eventually with the Asiana strike, so there will be minimal disruption to flight schedules. Whether they will or not is another question. |

Those things suck.
I got stuck in Rome once because Volaire Air suddenly went belly up (an Italian airliner).
Watching 300 people stranded with no other option and no assistance is quite a sight. |

Yeah, it's quite a pain (due to be flying ICN-LHR on KE on the 17th).
We'll see, we'll see.

knock wood.
I believe that they (the airline) will shuffle around pilots/backups for international flights (save Japan) as much as possible for the sole purpose of keeping the flames of anger reaching overseas (maybe just to western nations???). Then again, they did drop CA flights...but that could be due to not being prepared to call bluff.... Dunno.
My flight is for the 9th in the morning and it has yet to be listed (fingers crossed).
Lazy basssssssties.

A good lesson here is to book flights on airlines of countries where strikes are not tolerated. ie China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan.
They all fly to Europe and North America. Screw unions-another British invention that has outlived its usefulness. |

My books have been slightly delayed because of this even though we use another airline.
Them Korean air pilots really do not want to take those English test huh? |

all I can tell you is that our translator (whose husband is a co-pilot for KE) says KAL made loads of money this year but refused to increase wages, then when I was on an internal bus I heard some pilots talking and they said
"It'll get very complicated if this goes on for more than a day"
Thanks for your time,
SJ. |

You mean company management might keep the profits. Where is the dedication of the pilots? They should work for the joy of flying the planes. Who needs wage increases, labor laws, and unions? |

I've been boycotting Korean Air for almost a decade now. Do you think they'll go belly up or continue to belly flop? What a crappy carrier. |

why would they go belly up if they're making a lot of profit?
I've flown Korean Air a few times and they were alright- planes were absolutely ram packed both times I went long-haul, but you can't blame a carrier for selling lots of tickets. Food was so-so, service was average, inflight entertainment same as anyone else really.
Seems to me that Korean Air and Asiana take it in turns to strike every 6 months. |
