|
|
We've been living in Bundang for the past year, and are thinking of relocating to Ilsan next March (leaving this week, returning in the spring).
When we moved to Bundang, our neighbourhood was a few brand new buildings, a whole lot of empty spaces, and not so many people strolling the pretty streets. 8 months later, there are no empty spaces, nothing but neon lights on a new building opening each week, and the streets are full and people pushy.
We really enjoyed the newness of Bundang when we moved here, and someone suggested that Ilsan is now, what Bundang was 2 years ago. IE/ new developments, quiet suburbia with new officetels, some decent cafes and restaurants and the regular old chain sandwich shops, restaurants, etc etc -- but not yet packed full of people on top of people.
There's really no time for us this week to take a trip up to Ilsan to check it out, and I've only been there once (to that huge park with the artificial lake, and that was 3 years ago...).
Anyone who knows both have any insight? Is Ilsan now, what Bundang was a couple of years ago? |

Don't know about that, I used to live in Ilsan and I was told it was developed about 7 years ago. It has the same suburban feel as Bundang, but the latter always felt more sleepy to me. Transport is pretty good and you can be in Hongdae in around 30 mins with a good run on the 921 bus. All major shopping chains seem to be there, especially in Jeongbalsan which is pretty much the epicentre of life there. Depends on where exactly in Ilsan you are moving though, its a big place. Outlying areas like Tanhyeon are pretty sleepy. Hope this helps. |
