Does anybody know of any ESL education classes (something along the lines of TEFL) available in Seoul? I would really like to take one, possibly for a month, or maybe longer, but am having a hard time tracking any down. Thanks.

Wrench, that's an online TEFL. Maybe the OP is looking for a 1-month intensive course offered here in Seoul.

Apparently, the British Council in Seoul does a CELTA course once a year. I think a coworker did it.

the CELTA course is expensive but it rocks and is well worth the money. i just finished it last week and despite having more than 5 years of teaching under my belt, i learned a lot and am now a much more effective teacher. i highly recommend it...

i did it in calgary and it was $2500 CD.
you can call the british council in seoul to get the price there...i seem to remember it was around 2 million won.
it's expensive because of all the work and preparation the trainers have to do. they actually work harder than the trainees during the course. plus a cambridge guy flies in toward the end of the course to make sure everything is up to snuff. |
