Just finishing up the requirements for my BA degree right now and am hoping to be working in Korea by September. Problem is that my convocation ceremony isn't until November and my university told me there is NO WAY I am getting that diploma early (grrrrr....)
So... is an official degree Letter of Completion and a copy of my transcript good enough to get a visa?? Or am I stuck waiting around til November?

It was good enough for me. Immigration does have a reputation for being fickle here, however.
Good luck.

i was in exactly the same situation when i was looking for work.
here's what to do:
the letter of degree comletion will not do. this is because over the past few years immigration has been having a lot of problems with fake letters. letters are easy to fake, diplomas are a little harder.
so instead of the letter of degree completion your university can give you a certificate of degree completion. never heard of it? i hadn't either until i talked to about three different administrators at my university.
the thing is that you don't get this letter from the registrar's office but from another office that deals with graduation and graduates. to find out about this office you should talk to the registrars office or to an undergraduate administrator. it is not hard to get, you just have to fill out a form that asks you what your degree was in and when your convocation is, etc. and pay a fee (mine was 15$). they then check to make sure you've completed all program requirements and in about a week you'll have a certificate of degree completion which looks similar to a diploma and is accepted by immigration.
i did this all about four months ago so i'll bet it would be okay for you too.
