Hello,

I did the visa run but never finished it up by bringing the paper work and my passport to immigration to finalize it and get the ARC because an urgent family matter came up and I returned to my home country. I am wondering if this means I have to wait until next summer to return again?

I think you should contact Immigration and find out for sure. My guess is that once the consulate stamps the passport, it is in force and you aren't eligible to return till that visa expires. But what do I know? I'm not an Immigration officer.

Visas are issued for 3 months, and get extended to a full year when you get the ARC, or that's always been my understanding. Check your passport to be sure.
