|

Hey, looking for a good day spa to send the GF to for a day. All I have found in English is the pricy, upscale hotels. I am sure Korean based places, that are a little more reasonable.
Anyone have some experience with this? |

Where do you live?
The big Hotel spas are nice but make sure she does not consider this a usual thing (my wife's family goes to the spa once per month...).
Heck, I go to the spa once per week here. |

I live in Seoul. Definately not a regular thing for her.
Any specific recommendations?
I saw the adds for the Hyatt, Sherraton, etc |

a lot of the nicer spa/saunas have a day spa in them. I know we went to SPAVIS in Asan (I think it was asan, they have a website so you can check), and they had a full-service spa with body scrubs, massage, pedicure, etc.
Spavis is totally awesome, too. It has a separate men's/women's area, but they are massively huge. Then in the middle is a big mixed sex area, where you have to wear a swimsuit, but they have about 3-4 hot tubs in that area, cool tubs, and then a huge pool with different jets/sprays/fountain things.
Then you can go outside and there's a huge pool, a circular river with a current to push you around, jacuzzis that smell like green tea and lemon, ice water tubs, etc. Everything is heated and so nice and warm. We went outside in Feb. to swim.
I think a day here for both of you would be awesome. They have a gift shop and a food court, and it's about 20,000/person, unless you go before 9 or 10 am, then it's only 10,000 (but the central area isn't open yet, only the men/woman spas)
Anyway, thought I'd mention it. It's very fancy and really a fun place to visit. Probably an hour from Seoul? I know it's about 20 minutes from Cheonan. |

| hmmmm ... with saunas and jimjilbangs located on every street corner in korea, i would think of another gift idea. get a weekend package at the shilla or renaissance or go out of town someplace together. you could even visit some hot springs and stay in a spa hotel together --- ichon has a lot. |
