Poll Analyzes What Korean Women Want
... 85.4 percent of the respondents said they would weigh "economic capabilities" more than "appearances."... Among 9,588 single women who were asked whether "single men and women need to find out if they are sexually well-matched before marriage," those who said "yes" (58.9%) surpassed those who said "no" (41.1%) by a ratio of 6:4.

Beautiful women want rich guys. This is the engine of capitalism. Back in my home country, a woman won't date you unless you own a car. So then you have all these guys back at home spending all their energies trying to make more and more money to buy that car. Oh, yeah! I forgot to mention that a cheap compact car will not impress. It had better be AT LEAST a Japanese luxury or sports car, but a German car would be the ideal here. Never mind the fact that the city where I am from has an outstanding public transportation network which negates the necessity of owning a car. Still, we fall into this trap because every guy wants the best woman for himself.

So most Korean women are no different. Still, I think men have more chances here to find women whose values haven't been totally taken over by money than in the west.

What do korean women want??? Anything sparkly. Preferably with a shine glossy enough to enable their reflection to be seen. Now something shiny with a cartoon picture of a big eyed fluffy baby rabbit or kitten on it would be even better. Maybe with a bit of konglish "Loving you rainy for good while is satisfy" thrown in. Just make sure the words and cartoon don't obscure the reflective surface too much....

I find that they mostly want me.

No, they only want you for fun. We are talking about marriage here. They are two entirely different reasons to want someone.

Not true. Two Korean women have seriously planned to marry me before and since 2001 I've never had more than 6 million won in the bank account at any one time. Two others that I can think of were I to have put any effort into the relationship.
This survey is talking about ideals, and when women think rich they are often mistaking it for ambition.

i agree with mith. a lot of guys start whining about how women want a rich guy, but let a woman walk around with a guy with no money and all the other guys will moan about "what does she see in that guy?" a lot of women just want a guy who's not a lazy, shiftless bastard. somebody with a little ambition. i think we all know a few dudes with dubious musical ambitions who still get a lot of girls.

but, i don't know. i don't really know what i'm talking about. i just know one thing: the second quickest way to NOT find out what women want is to ask a woman. The only quicker way is to ask a man.

What they want is an American passport.

Korean women totally ignore me, because I'm honest about being a Canadian.

At the moment, I hang out in a cafe, where part of their job is to talk to me, I guess. I'm really not clear on these bar girls. But they are nice enough to me for now.

That's true. Once I asked some female friends in dorm what they wanted in a boyfriend. "We want someone who's sensitive and vulnerable and reads poetry and cries etc." Then I asked, "Are any of your boyfriends like that?" "Well..... uh......." It's like asking people if hard exercise and eating carrot sticks is a good idea. Of course... but how many people do it...

They really said that? I've always thought if I wanted someone who cried and was vulnerable, I'd be into women. Crying after watching Old Yeller, receiving a kick to the family jewels, or watching the team you've supported since childhood lose in the playoffs, might be acceptable. After a movie like "I am sam" is not. Razz

A few of my wife's friends have been in the predicament of having to choose between a decent, stable, well-to-do guy and a less economically viable guy who they considered to be the love of their life. They all went with the former option. Lucky for me my wife went with the latter.

Hehe-- yes, Peppermint-- and it was in Squires House in St. John's! Although I must admit the Blackall girls were a little more tomboyish and would be somewhat more explicit..
