This is a mystery that has puzzled me for years.
I understand the basic part about frost. (humidity and temperature). What I don't get is why some mornings there is frost on the front and back windows of my car but not on the side windows. The side windows get it only on the coldest mornings. |

Have you ever parked the car in a different direction? Uuuhh...not sure, but it might have something to do with the angles of the windows. |

The basics ( simple without getting too deep into it) is that the front and rear windows have a reflective panel ( dashboard and rear parcel shelf) which disrupts the temperature / airflow in these two areas when compared to the side windows.
So when conditions ( temp / air flow and humidity) are ready for frost these two areas will react first. |

I had this theory back in Canada that it happened because of incresed humidity in the car... which we have already said. So what I did is like 30 seconds before home... I opened my window and let the air turn over in the car... expelling the humidity.
Never had a problem after that. |
