That statement was said by Harper during the election debate tonight.

Empty?

Then he goes and says Canada would probably not win international ice hockey tournaments without the participation of those from Quebec.

Canadian hockey doesn't have enough depth? That's contrary to the view of the millions of hockey fans it seems.

Dumb and dumber. (Minor but indicative.)

Except for the water, trees, oil and wildlife the Americans want, eh?

"Empty" is such an Albertan thing to say. (Harper's advisors' home turf)

B.C.ers would never describe our country like that.

Pierre Berton used to say that Canada is a long and thin country much like Chile, and he was right. It's a country populated much in the same way as others that just happens to have a huge back yard.

Since 90% of the population lives within 160 km of the US border, that gives us about the same area as Peru, and a very similar population. Most of Canada is about as densely populated as they are then. Oh, plus the huuuuuuuge back yard we get to use.

Empty is nice...

Canada would still do well without Quebec players. Sure, our goaltending would be a bit softer, but up front and definitely on D we are stacked.

As Mats Sundin said, and many other non-Canadians agree, "Canada could easy fill 3 or 4 teams that could win an international tournament." (exact words may be off, but you get the gist of it)

Let the Norks have the whole peninsula, and let the Sorks (Souks?) have Canada. Everyone's happy.

In other news, the Guru became the 44th largest property owner (residential) in Jongno-gu as of 12.45 today.

(That was the biggest bowl of bibimbap any man has ever consumed. ughh... *belch*... Look out, "Fatty Choi" --- I'm sneaking up on #43! Very Happy )
