I was thinking and it occured to me that this site might be a little more friendlier if there was a chat room. What do you think? Is it reasonable/feconomical or not?

By reasonable, I mean can it be done or will it be used without too much abuse.

By economical, I mean Mr. Sperling has to make his money. It would cost money to upgrade. Also, every hit on this site counts( I think??).

Are you really 100% sure you want to have a one-on-one chat with some of the people on here? I've thought about it and I think it would be a bad idea. I fear that chronic culture shock and genetic paranoia could bleed through the internet.

Are you sure you want that? Given the way some people act on here?

this would be a great poll except for the fact dave already has a chat up and running...

maybe the poll should be about why noone knows about it and why the board posters never go there...

I have been going there for years as it was the only chat room I could get on because of my last school's rather tight firewall....

But that's for Dave's posters from all around the galaxy. I don't care for that Neptunian crowd one bit.

And forget it. I'm not re-registering just to be insulted in "real time".

LOL... after a 'couple' of maekjus/sojus/dongdongjus I'm not quick enough to insult anyone in 'real time'... I much prefer the delayed reaction. Laughing

well seeing as he's using free software and gets a lot of job listings, it wouldnt be an issue if he were willing to put up the money for a DECENT chatroom... but i doubt he would..

If there were a chat room specifically for the Korean posters, it would probably go down in flames...much like what happened to the board a while ago, when Dave decided to pull moderation for a while. Within two days (I think it was) pretty much all new threads were some sort of "flame"
