Does anyone know a working www adress for the NZ Embassy in Seoul?
All the links I have are giving the "unavailable" message. Maybe the site is down or the links are old.
Also, to any Kiwi's who married Koreans, how did you go about making everything legal for when you return to N.Z? I know an Embassy rep. can be present at the wedding, but is it possible to get everything done after the event (as Canadians can do ) ?
What did you do to make your Korean wedding NZ legal? |

the website is
http://www.nzembassy.com/
But it's down at the moment.
The embassy itself has information about marriage stuff
but you may want to check out this
And information about bringing home your family is here.
Love your pic! |

well funny you should ask..
when I got married we did the embassy things ,witness etc..
had the forms..
when I arrived in Auckland with my wife. immigration wanted to send her back! I was LIKE dream on!! she is my wife!! its all legal you aint sending her back nowhere! call the embassy in seoul.. after some stupid BS they gave her a 7 day visa.. this was becuase I only got a one way ticket..
then at immigration in wellington..
we filled out all the forms! they kept extending her visa every 6 months!
and finally filed for residency.. but that was a huge battle!
I went one on one with the workers down there and brough the place to a standstill.. hope this doesnt happen to you..
they said to me.. she might not be giving residency! so I said is that right!!
and why is that??? oh becuase she is a foreigner! and I SAID!!
well she is married to me and im an new zealand citizen! im not one of this immigrant standing behind me waiting in line hoping to immigrate here! so DONT treat me like one!! then I through my passport on the table and said you see that!!!
I HAVE ONE!! im a kiwi!! and she is my wife!! so she will be a resident due to the fact she married me!! END OF STORY! so dont sit here behind that desk at tell me different!!! stop telling me BS and get it done!!!
then she broke down crying, and some idiot man came over.. and I said
buddy. SORT IT OUT stop wasting my time. and stop wasting your time!
IM not an immigrant like the people behind me.. so dont treat me like one!
then I walked out!!
next day got a phone call, asking to come down to sign the forms for residency for my wife.. hahahahaha
then I took off 2 months later so wasted all that time for nothing..
BUT!!! back to the story!!
all you got to do is.. have the embassy in seoul recognise your marriage they will take care of the rest.. |

We got married in NZ. There is quite a bit of paper work and proof that the relationship is real. Photos seem important. Take photos of the two of you together at different places. Also receipts of any travel together (train trips, hotels, etc).
Having a Justice of the Peace confirm the marriage (cost about $150) in NZ may be worth considering.
Peace. |

I'm not a Kiwi but I'm an Aussie and I know the Kiwi Embassy is in the same building as the Aussie Embassy. They're in the KYOBO Building in Seoul and, by the way, in the basement of the building is Korea's largest book store with a huge English section.
I don't remember the name of the subway stop though. If the Kiwi Embassy site is down just go to the Aussie Embassy site for the address. |

| Does your wife now have the permission to apply for PR istamp in her passport? You can keep postponing it every two years until you return to NZ. Don't think you have to do it all again. |
