Hi all,

I have a prayer request. I feel so frustrated as it seems there is nothing I can do; however, God can make miracles happen.

Here is the situation:

My brother Mark went missing. He has been extremely
depressed after the break up of his marriage, his
oldest boy refusing to see him, and the loss of a good
friend of his from suicide last fall.

He told my children he is proud of them and then later
called them to say that they could keep whatever
things of his they wanted that he left behind. He has
not been heard from in a couple of weeks. My children
called the police but they have not been able to find
him. Somehow his bank records were checked with the
last transaction being made at a bank in Manitoba,
Canada.

I want to return to Canada but I am financially unable
to at this time. I believe my brother may have gone
out west to BC, as he was last heard of in Manitoba,
and he did have a dream of going out west.

Please pray for his safety.

K-in-C

I'm very sorry to hear about this situation. There is every reason to hope that your brother is perfectly all right in his exile, maybe riding horses on Alberta's plains, or scaling the Rockies. It sounds like he has a lot of grief to work through, and maybe it's easier to do it alone. It's madness, of course, to believe that his family wouldn't want to go through this with him, and I hope that he contacts you and sets your mind at ease immediately. (I will pray, by the way, for your peace and his healing and safety.)

K-in-C, I hope he contacts you soon. It's tough being on the other side of the world where you can't do anything.

Does he have an email address? Perhaps you could write him an email supporting him and telling him how much you love him and need him in your life (and your children's lives). Maybe if he checks his emails and sees that, it will help him. It might also help you feel that you are doing something proactive too.

I truly hope everything works out well. Keep strong and keep the faith.

Thanks so much. I did email him soon after I heard about it.

K-in-C... so sorry to hear about this. If he is drawing money out from his bank, then perhaps he just wants to go away for a breather?

We live and hope. I will keep you and your brother in my prayers.

Take care.

Why would you even ask this question? If you pray then please pray for my brother's safety. If not, then please just hope for his well being if you so choose too. This is your choice.

Peace,

K-in-C

Please don't troll on serious matters like this.

K in C didn't specify a God, so your own God will do...

Who is "him?" I am a female.

Thanks tzechuk. Some people will try to cause confrontations regardless of the matter at hand.

Peace,

This is not the thread for that kind of discussion. I wanted to send my comment as a private message, but I chose to make it public just in case this sort of derailing came up-- I hoped that the well-wishers would outnumber the naysayers. Her brother is missing. She is sad. Let's address that, and argue about God somewhere else.

The same reason why you would post news of your day's escapades on the board as well as the same reason why you feel like crawling the walls if you have to stay indoors without talking to anyone for a full day, I suppose.
