Yes, just like the axis of evil, we've got the axis of apology on this board. Who would you consider as the three most annoying and brain dead apologists on this board?

Personally, I would choose the urban legend(nee myth), homer simpson and spinoza(and trust me, this one ain't the philosopher).

urban myth: has no life(as admitted in a previous reply to my post), uses obscure and inept sayings such as "numbers are mine". Has too much free time on his hands. Like to juxtapose words. I'm sure that he'll do something similar to this post.

homer: loves to retort any contradictory remark about Korea by declaring, "well, they have such things as (insert any word) in Canada" or "Don't you know that they(insert any word)have such things in Zimbabwe". Yes, he/she never centers on the the argument itself but rather finds ways to bypass it.

spinoza: The Eurotrash member of the group, I believe. Likes to team up in responses with the other members of the axis. Likes to appear like the philosopher Spinoza but falls way short of the mark...

To the newbies, "apologists" are basically people that defend the boorish behavior of Koreans and pretend that everything in Korea is rosy and glorious. They are delusional and believe that Koreans can differentiate between them and the other foreign pond scum that are shuffling around the peninsula. "Hey, there goes urban myth, homer and spinoza, they are the COOL foreigners and they always defend our beloved Korea," said little Kim Jung-Yoon. Yes, little Jung-Yoon, they are different than all the other foreigners present in Korea. ALL Koreans love and respect them. Yes, somehow, I'm sure that they think Koreans can tell the difference...

But, our delusion triad just doesn't understand...they don't understand that Koreans view us all in the same light. Distant. Outside of the Korean mentality. Invaders. These terms apply to ALL of us. So, little Jung-Yoon, we must educate them.

Now, I'm sure that their egos will be inflated by this topic(since, well, this board is all they have in their lives). Just remember guys...there is no such thing as bad pub.

Of course, I expect the trite responses. I'm sure that there will be an "Axis of (whatever there little minds can think of)" and they'll try to appear cool and suave but it will come off pretty tacky. Anyhow guys, just some fun here. No bad vibes intended(chortle). Seriously.

Me: 3 apologists:0 (from now on, I'm keeping score)

Yeah, really. What's up with that? C'mon. Some people (including me) get offensive and irritable, but your post is just...

Somebody else respond to this.

Seriously, if the best you can do is start a thread purely for the purpose of thrashing other members, you've lost my respect.

Grow up.

Wow! A week off in Korea. Well, this is one place where I would rather work than have any days off. Now, if it were Hawaii, it would be radically different. I'm still recovering from the long boredom associated with the Chinese New Year... No way that I want anymore time off here. For your situation, why not travel to other Asian countries?? C'mon, you want to go to Jeju??? The "Hawaii" of Korea...I've been to Hawaii, trust me, it ain't even in the same ballpark.

Wishmaster's first ever post nearly THREE YEARS AGO demonstrates great discontent with Korea. Maybe we can nominate him as a finalist for that other award.

One thing to realise about message boards is that people aren't going to change thier opinions. This could have been an interesting discussion, but I think calling out specific names was very tasteless and you're getting a response based on that.

I'm one of the more boring posters on these forums -- I tend to stick to factual stuff I know about firsthand -- but I do occasionally jump in when I see the country as a whole being slagged by people who landed themselves in crappy situations or are evident misfits. Its a question of balance. I think curious would-be teachers browsing these forums deserve to hear the upside too.

If that makes me an apologist too ... sorry!

I agree but I think I know where the OP is coming from. The apologists will attack anyone who points out any negative thing about Korea.
Anything!!!
And they take great delight in doing it. It's like watching the hyenas move in on a lion. Individually, they are weak but the old strength in #s thing takes over until the Korean complainer just gives up. That's why I quit posting here a couple of years ago-it was fruitless taking them all on although I liked it but saw too many posts get deleted when I attacked them back. The mods seem to have a more relaxed attitude about this now as long as the knives don't get too long.

I have a new catch phrase that I'm going to use everywhere. Especially at work: "I am not sorry".

Thanks for coming out...and getting soundly thrashed by the non-apologists on the board. Still keeping score?

Still feeling bad about losing all those arguments, I see.
