Actually, in the time when those shots were taken that particular subway entrence was undergoing reconstruction thereby making it look the way it does. Though, in my mind, the main character in this piece is the empty commersial sign as its functional intention collided with the lack of content makes it float outside of a purpose to exist and thereby unintentionally making it a framed monochrome in public space. (Pretensiously wandering off rambling about the scenic appearence and illusions of objectivity by the straight-on angle and lights and phallic appearence of the pipes dangeling down towards the hidden entrence below and so on and so on with way too many references dropped wherever possible... ) |
