I was wondering if there are any really good travel agents out there that can get me the best deal possible. I need to get to Vancouver, Canada leaving on Friday 23 returning to Seoul on the 31st. My father had a heart attack and I need to get home to see my family. Please let me know. |

There's a really long list of travel agents on the travel forum.
Really sorry to hear about your Dad - hope he's OK.
Take care. |

you might want to contact the airlines direct and explain the situation. Some of them might take pity on you and offer a compasionate fare. You will need some paperwork as proof and the western airlines are probably best for that. |

Wow, I wish you luck-I booked Vancouver a few weeks ago on the 23rd and everything was sold out according to the TA. But they only tried to book direct or connecting flights. SO I went online and booked a flight on Singapore to SFO anfd then up to YVR. Be sure to also look at flying in to Seattle, or LA as well.
Also check out ANA (All Nippon) they had some long Tokyo layovers that connected to YVR. Again the TA wasn't keen to do that when I asked her about it.
Here are all the airlines that will connect you out of Seoul to Vancouver. It may be circuitous and expensive at this time of the year but you do what you have to do when it comes to your parents.
Air Canada
Korean
Singapore
Asiana
United
Northwest
All Nippon
Cathay PAcific
EVA
China Airlines
American
Japan Airlines
Good luck. I hope everything works out OK |

A month ago, a Korean friend was quoted 800,000 round-trip to Vancouver through JAL. I'll try to get more details and contact info ASAP, but given your timeframe, get on the horn with JAL right away to see if they have anything similar for you, as they are usually good with specials. |

I am putting good money JAL won't be any help. I am not trying to be mean, but Japan has 3 peak times. I remember looking at the price sheet they always hide while I lived there. The last week of December and first of January prices tripled (I am seriously not joking). The airline companies in Japan are worse than the yakuza (though their airplanes are wonderful ). |
