Has anyone taken games consoles overs?
Do they have different connectors from TV to console?
Are they hard to find if they do?

Hiya.
I brought my PS2 to double as a DVD player. I had no problem hooking it up to my TV, but there are regional restrictions in terms of games/DVDs. I can't buy games for this North American machine, nor can I have them sent from the States or Canada.

Check the base of your console. If it only has 120V NTSC U/C like the PS1 I brought over a long time ago, you'll have to buy a step-down transformer if the place you will be living in only has 220V outlets...costs 30,000won or less. Besides that, you won't have a lot of problems playing the games you bring or connecting it to your TV/VCR, you just can't use Korean games or DVDs. That's where getting it chipped here will help...only costs you about 50,000won and you can play anything you illegally d/l and burn.

Oh, sorry...I just noticed you're in England. The voltage won't be a problem. But PAL will be if you want to play games/DVDs bought here. Most games are NTSC-J here. I forget how that PAL/NTSC selector stuff works. Most TVs here have the same as NA...I think 50Hz, so that could be a problem, too unless all PAL versions come with selector...they actually do, right? Arrrrgh. Headache! Anyway, voltage okay. PAL, okay(I think). Connectors, I don't know. Playing NTSC on PAL PS2, I'm not sure.

Buy a swap disc set and you don't need to chip. Regions mean nothing then too. Look on the net if you want more info...it is easy to chip it or buy swap disc and then you can play copy cd's, too.

Cool
