I noticed that Ivy English school in Cheongju, YongamDong is looking for teachers. I would highly reccomend you STAY AWAY from there if you are looking for a job. I could write volumes on why, I'll try to be brief though.

I spent 3 years working for them. Until the middle of the third year I actually helped them find new teachers. After seeing how things at the school were deteriorating, I couldn't in good faith try and recruit teachers for them. The last year there, especially the last 6 months, were fairly stressful and hellish at times.

It kicked off with them making a new teacher so miserable that he quit within a month of starting work. Basically it came down to him having a beard and the director deciding, after hiring him (and yes, they KNEW he had the beard and had even seen it weeks before he started), that she didn't want him to have it. It only continued to get worse from there. Pays were late for some teachers. Lots of stupidity on the part of the director which caused it to be a stressful work enviroment (yeah that is pretty normal for hagwons but it was pretty intense).

For my part, they pulled an 11th hour firing, with only 2 weeks notice. In the end they not only cheated me out of my ticket home and severance pay. They also held back 1/3 of my final pay. In that final 2 weeks I was constantly jerked around by them. I was also cheated out of 2 weeks vacation they owed me. They were actually firing two of us, when they realised that they only had 1 replacement teacher coming. So, the other teacher was given a reprieve.

You could do much better than working there.
