so here i am parousing amazon, just jettin' around...
then I remembered i really wanted to hear something from Thomas Newman.

Now, usually when I think of movies, I think of movies and pictures and the like. Thomas Newman is a composer who writes scores for movies.

He's done some doozies...green mile, shawshank redemption, lemony snickets.

But ALL of these PALE in comparison to American Beauty. This guy wrote music so good, that without it OR with ANYTHING else, that moview would not have been half as affective.

In my opinion Thomas Newman is HANDS DOWN the best movie scorer alive today. I've read all this "John Williams crap" (granted star wars is a fine theme song indeed) that speilberg and the like belch out but seriously, NOBODY does it better than thomas newman in my opinion.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on
1) The music in the movie american beauty...did it fit well and the like?

2) Who is the best movie scorer in hollywood today

1: Yes it did. Though for me that movie was all about Spacey's brilliant acting and the character he played

2: Hans Zimmerman, those deep tribal drums, I think he uses Taiko samples a lot.

while Newman is an UNBELIEVABLE composer, I think Danny Elfman gives him a run for his money, just because he's so damn quirky!!
