Is there any cinema I can go to that has current Korean movies with English subtitles? I know that I could get them on DVD soon enough, but sometimes only the cinema will do!!!

It seems a little unfair to watch only English movies all the time.

I know that Seoul Selection shows Korean movies, but I wanted a cinema really.......

Merry Christmas!!!!

I know the CineCore movie theatre at Jonggak subway station was showing select Korean movies with English subtitles as of last year. But not sure if they are stilling doing that.

How long have you been in Korea? You mean you haven't learned Korean yet? Shame on you. Don't you know Korea is the "Hub of Asia blah blah blah?" Anyway, seriously, sometimes Coex shows Korean movies with subtitles if it's a really big title. But for some reason, most Korean movies don't have them. It's like they don't want foreigners to see Korean films. Even Thai movies like Shutter had no English subtitles in Korea although it did originally. I had to wait until I went to the Philippines to pick up the dvd with the subtitles along with many other Korean movies for $1 - $2 each. It's just part of the annoyance of living in Korea - - - fighting!

Keep checking the Korea Times. They always have a little article about it when they do. Its rare though. The only ones I remember being with English subtitles have been Taegukgi, Old Boy, and the Scandal. I wish Typhoon was though!

Spend 100k on a multi-region DVD player, then get some Korean DVDs. Most have English subtitles. Are you in Seoul? Go to Youngsan and run amok.
