Any insights into NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS who aren't from Anglophone countries finding jobs? Is it possible? Legal?
I'm french (at least my passport says so) but I've never spoken french in my entire life(I speak only English and Thai), I went through the US school system right up thru grad school.
English is my first language and if you heard me speak you'd ask what state in the US I was from.
You see things about only people from ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES able to get jobs, but at the same time there are posts about African Americans, Indians and Filipinos getting jobs. What's it like in reality and what's it like theoretically speaking? |

Sorry to be so curt in my answer; but in theory (and in reality), you will not get a job teaching English in Korea if you hold a French passport.
P.S. Last time I checked, African Americans were from an English speaking country. |

That might just convince someone to give you a break. If you explained to a school what you just explained to us, they in turn might be able to convince immigration. Obviously if you've gone through the US education system right up to grad school, you're a native speaker. Your degrees would back that up.
Speculation on my part. I'd still give it a go though. |

It will be an uphill battle.
It seems to me I've read a quote from the law where it lists the English-speaking countries.
You might have more luck convincing an employer if you were in Korea and could meet in person. Might. Doing it by e-mail would be extremely difficult, I would think. |

There is NO chance of you getting a LEGAL position with an E2 visa in Korea. The immigration rules clearly state that for you to be a teacher of English you must be from one of: " the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, NewZealand or South Africa."
I won't discuss the multitude of illegal opportunities for native speakers who are lacking the required degree or proper passport. |

You will never know unless your school submits your documents to immigration.
From what I have heard, being white would help a lot.
Good luck. |
