It's noon and it's snowing really hard. All the teachers are saying we may get out early. Whoopee!!

(I'll be SO disappointed if we have to stay all day.)

My workshop was cancelled this morning, meaning I had to go to school instead.

Driving was a *beep*!ng joke this morning. The snow is nice and all, but I wish someone would invest in a snowplow and a salt truck.

Nothing better than the first real snow and everyone charging out of school during break for an impromptu snow-ball fight. Lunch break starts in 20 minutes - should be lots of fun Smile

I got a good chuckle walking downtown to the bank this morning around 11. All these great big Korandos and Tiburons and other makes of 4wd...creeping down the road like they were driving across a sheet of glass, scared of a bit of snow. Laughing

Quite right too: 4WD helps to get u going, but makes no difference to stopping.

(And btw, most 4WD's here are fakes and only 2WD)

I'm so glad that it's acceptable to complain about the weather here. As soon as that old "What don't you like about Korea" question comes out, my answer is locked and loaded.
I'd never seen snow until I came here. It was interesting for about the first hour or so. Then I had to start wearing those things called "long-johns", which freaked me out because I'd only ever seen those in cowboy movies before. Thankfully mine didn't have that button-up flappy bit that hangs over the arse though. Still, I'd much rather be poolside with a steak sandwich and a cold beer right now.

A few miles north of Masan.

I've gone into a major depression. The snow has stopped and the clouds are breaking up. The sun is coming out. I am not a happy camper at this moment. I had big plans for my free afternoon that wasn't. Woe is me.

Hell, don't you work at a high school? At this time of year aren't your classes drastically shortened, cancelled or reduced to watching videos or playing games? Mine certainly are. 40 minute classes, seventh cancelled, no classes personally me for me next week, students only coming in until 12 and starting an hour late. It's as if winter vacation has already begun!

You only have 40-minute lessons at your high school?

Mine are all getting switched around and cancelled, too. My last class before lunch convinced me they had to go practice for a singing festival. I was happy to take their word for it.

Damn, though, the snow is melting and blowing away here, too.

Well, I'm in deepest darkest Jeollabuk-do, and it's been snowing off and on for the past two and a half weeks. It's a blizzard outside at the moment, but everything looks so pretty and clean(!!) when the sun comes out. I've had no school all week, due to a combination of road conditions/exams/general Korean disorganisation, so I'm not complaining.

Yes, I do work at a high school but no, none of those things are happening to my classes. Once finals were over the week before last, everything went back to normal. ARGGGG.

This is our second major storm in Gwangju, and it's been snowing off and on since the first one 2 weeks ago. Sadly, I'm already on vacation so, no snow day this time. Laughing
