Hey All,
I have recently started working in an elementary school in Sosa nr Bucheon and am striggling to find people to go out with, or to meet them when they are out. I did go to Goose Goose in Bupyeong and it was OK, but is there anywhere closer to home?
I keep on heading into Hong Dae/ Itaewon on the weekend and its costing me a fortune, so I want some other options before I have to start selling organs.
Cheers,
Dan |

I'm afraid you better start looking for an appraisal on your kidney, for there
are no community gatherings or places to go in Bucheon on week nights or on
weekends. I've beeen in Jung Dong for 8 months, and I still haven't met any
foreign community. Those trips to Seoul are expensive for us who are prepared
to take a taxi home after the trains stop running. I don't intend to sell my kidney
or liver, so I'm heading back to Seoul after my current contract expires.
As for the Goose Goose, I've been there twice and the second time was even
duller. |

SunBow, sort of round the corner from Bucheon Methodist Church.
Usually a reasonably friendly small bunch of foreigners their of a weekend. Not to mention some very friendly Koreans. |

first of all, why would you go into seoul and come back like between 1-4 a.m if youre going into seoul for a good , LONG enjoyable time? might as well just stay there until the trains open again at 5:30-6. just sleep in a nice comfy pc room chair and have a few hours sleep for 3 hours/3-5,000 won or sauna |

| Never lived there, but for an occasional visit on a night out, Bucheon seemed nicer than Incheon. But then I found Incheon the worst place ever, or about as bad as Pohang. Maybe it was just me and my location and situation... (or obviously?) But my spirits picked up when I got fired and found a new gig back in Seoul. |

Spidey, I've pulled off those all-nighters before,
and believe me it isn't pleasant to feel $hit all day
Sunday. I'd like to visit some bars and old friends
in Seoul most weekends, not just once in awhile, so
staying up all night almost every Saturday is definitely
out of the question. I don't want to return to Canada
in a pine box in the cargo hold of a 747. But thanks
for your concern. |

| Just moved near Bupyeong and I was wondering whether it's worth heading over to Goose Goose or any of the other bars in that area? The most recent reports on here about the area don't really paint all that great a picture... |

| I live in Jung-dong too and there's not much here at all. Most of the foreigners here don't seem to be to friendly. If any of you in the 'hood are up for anything this weekend PM me and we can get together. |

I live in the south of Bucheon station. I have heard most of the foreigners live in the north part.
I have some roots, not deep nor shallow, in the local Korean community, and a handful of friends, so I usually don't go to Seoul to have fun anymore. Just to work and to buy some certain stuff. |

| I would definitely be up for a night out on the 7th. Like the other poster, I have Korean friends (a few) here so I don't really go to Seoul much anymore either, save maybe for a steak at 3 Alley pub or to Kyobo books. I'm burned out on the Goose, so maybe we could just hit up some random galbi restaurant. |
