I find myself very attracted to the French. I certainly don't want to be one, but I just adore them. They're a laugh a minute.
PS: I'm serious.

I love people who are sincere, brilliant, gentle, generous, affectionate, or funny. In the absence of any of these, just having enormous cojones is often enough.

I like people who consider the Gentra ad (Are you Gentle?) to be a koan.

Logic.

Patience, cuz, well, they need it with me.

Open, far-ranging mind that thinks a discussion with a little - or a lot - of heat and passion is a *good* thing.

A good derrier does not hurt.

Humility first and foremost. I like people who have a clear understanding it's not about them. After that, playfulness. People who like play for its' own sake are great.

People who don't care about money and material things much. Say they just returned from Sri Lanka and surfing for three months. Get a job for a while then do something else like stay at a monastery in Nepal for six months. Get a job then do something else like that.

Just to branch this one a bit, there are two kinds of people with this trait. The good ones, who are really cool to hang with. They tend to see more in their travels than other people. They also always seem to have a different experience (and hence a different view) of where they have been.
Then there are the spoiled rich kids who didn't pay an ounce of their education or international fun and don't have to worry about savings. I am sure my opinion of these people is clear Smile

I like many things - many people - many styles.. but what is harmonious with me? someone who can smile at a stranger.. and mean it. humor is important but everyone has their own idea of what that word means so... tap tap tap... I really like the soft non-pervasive energy of the korean males that i've ran into. its so comforting... suddenly i feel quite sharp in comparison. and i like when people talk about stuff other than their personal history and live for something other than building the archives... ya know - like one guy said, just playing for the sake of. (did i say too much, guy that only reads short posts?)

I know that everything is about me and it gets on my nerves having to spend time with 6 billion people who are so deluded as to think it is about them. But every once in a while I stumble across someone who knows it's all about me, and that really gets my engines going--because then, suddenly, it is all about them.
