Hi guys,
I wasnt expecting to be up this early on Xmas day! I woke up at 5am with a NASTY earache and sorethroat. I've had a cold for 4 days now, but this is something else. From wot I can tell my entire sinuses are blocked up on one side of me head.
Anyone know where I can get decongestant today (Karvol, Ol Bass Oil or something similar)? My ear hurtys!
Oh and
Ho Ho Ho
MERRY CHRISTMAS |

Go to any pharmacy near you. A LOT of pharmacists speak at least some English. Explain (or mime or draw a picture) of what your symptoms are and the pharmacist will give you something. (Most likely a string of pill packets with a variety of medicines.) |

i've been experimenting with several.
matoco - it's in an orange box. 2 pills, three times a day. not very strong.
consel - white, black, and red box. much stronger. definitely a daytime pill, it will make you feel like you had 4 cups of coffee, so make sure you eat something.
chloropheniramine maleate - this is the generic name of a lot of pills back home. it'll help your congestion, but will probably not help you stay awake. it's not a sedative, but i found i slept better with this than on consel.
lots of tea, water, orange juice. i was drinking a liter of water and a liter of orange juice every couple hours. just flush your system out.
barring that, get some nyquil from back home.
i also managed to get a flu shot (25,000 for the US one). it's only been two days, but i don't have the flu! |

The pharmacies do carry Allegra-D, but I would see a doctor about an earache. You probably ought to be on antibiotics. Last winter I had a similar condition that complicated into an inner ear infection. |
