Where are you from? If you're from Canada you have to file your tax return for 2005 just like a regular person, except you have to send it to the International Tax Services office in Ottawa. Unfortunately they're quite a bit slower. It took at least six months for an assessment, so I assume that's how long a refund would take.
For me, they made some major adjustments because I arrived in Korea 15 days before the end of 2004. So even though I had a $300 refund on my tax return for 2004, when they assessed me they had tweaked the numbers to where I actually had to pay $300.
If you put down your Korea address on your tax return they will send your info there. To get the tax forms, I just got someone in Canada to go to the post office to get them and mail them to me. |
