OK, stupid question from someone who's been here this long, but:

I've always used calling cards to call home (dial access number, pin & dial the phone # just like in the States), but my cards just ran out and I've only called my sister for Christmas so far. I need to call some other family types, but I have no idea how to make a direct call to the States from my home phone.

Help??

edit: Oh, and about how expensive is it?

International access codes are 001 or 002 + counrty code, area code, number.

Quite expensive, maybe 5 times as much as a card - I csan't say for sure as I have not used it for a while.

I use 001-1-area code, etc.

I don't use it often enough to know how expensive it is. My mom calls me because she pays like 4 cents a minute or something ridiculously cheap.

krats, I PMed you.

In addition to the previous poster, there's also 002 + country code + area code + number; to the US it's 150won per minute.

Thanks for the help guys. Actually, everyone I wanted to call is now on MSN, so I'll talk to 'em that way.

But, this is good to know for future reference.

Cheers!

have you missed the 4 billion gong-gong-chill-gong-gong commercials? try 00700 or 00365 before the number. i forget the specifics. I think to america it would be 00365-1-area code-number. supposedly cheaper than dialing direct. still expensive, though.
