Yes Youngdo Blacklisted by the Canadians
Over the last two months I have survey many Canadians (also Americans and Australians) from different Yes Youngdo branches.
95% of the foreign teachers that work for Yes Youngdo hate the company or doesnt want to come back for another year.
100% of the teachers have put Yes Youngdo on the Blacklist because of the poor management skills and how the company is run. Also, there is no respect for the teachers at Yes Youngdo.
Some of the comments by the teachers:
1. Youngdo is one of the worst school I have worked with. And I had my fair share of bad schools.
2. Yes Youngdo has ruined my experiences in Korea. I dont think I want to come back.
3. Youngdo Sucks.
4. The managers do not know how to manage the academy.
5. Teachers arent respected by some of the Korean staff or by the Head Office. They dont take any of our advices about improving the school.
6. Im not coming back to Yes Youngdo ever again.
7. Teachers that are thinking of applying to Yes Youngdo should think twice about it. Or find a better academy to work for." |

I was about to ask the same thing! Maybe the OP runs a rival school to YES Youngdo?? Or has a personal problem with YES management.
Or is a recruiter that wasn't paid?? |

This doesn't surprise me as a friend of mine was blackballed into leaving 10 months into his contract. They said the reason for his early dismissal was due to complaints from the parents but they had nothing to back up the charges. Privately it became known that it was because the supervisor had a personal grudge against the teacher that was the real reason he was let go.
Another thing that really was unprofessional was that they agreed to a reference letter so he could get another job, and signed it after he wrote it up. The school that he was applying to checked the reference letter by calling the institute and wouldn't you know it? The supervisor with the grudge answered the phone and proceeded to backstab him, nearly costing him the job.
I am so glad that I haven't had to deal with an institute for 6 years now, and hopefully never will again. I can't imagine being subjected to the sort of treatment that some hogwans put their staff through. |

esky, it is obvious that you have a personal grudge with YES if you are a former teacher. but your posts really looks like a post from a rival school.
how were you able to survey all those teachers that you claimed?
i noticed all your posts on this forum are to bad mouth YES Youngdo starting from dec. 15 till now. this looks rather suspicious as well.
i also worked at that school and i still have friends there. i've had my gripes with management but i still think it's one of the better schools in korea.
if you want to go into details, pm me. |

In case it isn't obvious for some of the newbs, but this looks to be a classic eslcafe blacklist attempt by a malicious person who had a bad experience with them. Whether its a recruiter or teacher, no one knows, nor will ever know, but whenever somebody comes on here and is dripping with contempt and dropping a lot of hearsay from others, its usually a load of BS.
For the record, Yes has 18 schools and that's a fair amount of teachers who are working there and have worked there. Therefore, whenever one is applying or receiving an offer from Yes, do yourself a favor and take this poster with a grain of salt and ask the school to provide contact info from current and past teachers, so you hear it from the horse's mouth.
I still believe that this may likely be a Korean recruiter who had a big falling out with one of the Yes directors, and is coming on here to talk trash. |

hahaha. I hooked him up with job because his first academy screwed him too. A guy I knew from Korean language classes worked at YES in Yongton and kept saying "it's the best school I've ever worked at, just like family blah blah blah" and so I introduced it to my friend and they screwed him royally. It seems a lot of teachers there are brainwashed tho...because so many talk about how famous the school is and how it's so highly recognized across Korea and blah blah blah when, in fact, the average Korean coudn't give a shit. |

Hearts and minds. The theory is that you can give them dignity and self-respect but in return they give you the control. By continually reinforcing your superiority and using other schools for a negative comparision. I have seen other teachers bcome militant about the large chain schools. They will become so indignant if you say something bad about their schools and start spouting the most trivial and superficial examples of why their school's system and style is the best.
Example: Everyone who reads this post...
Your school sucks and the system and managment are moronic!
Now I will get many messages as to why this is not true. But I already don't agree with my own statement. |
