Hi,

I am abit confused on the steps i need to take now. i have just been told my visa issuance number from my recruiter. Once i get to the London korean embassy, what do i need to do and what information must i have before leaving home?

Also do i get a multiple entry visa whilst i am there or do i have to do this when i am in korea gettiing my ARC?

Any advice would be really helpful and appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have a contract? You will need that.

Take everything with you.

It's a single entry visa that lasts for about 3 months, then you come and they will give you the working visa for a year. You don't need multiple reentry permit as a Brit.

Of course you need a Re-entry permit if you are planning on leaving Korea for a holiday, otherwise they won't let you back in Rolling Eyes

Take your visa issuance number to the consulate along with your passport, 4 passport size photos and a copy of your contract. When you get there you may have to fill in a form, the lady behind the counter will tell you which one. Depending on when you submit your application it will take between 3 and 5 days to process.

You will have to pay about 30 pounds for the visa, they don't accept cheques, only cash.

The initial visa you are issued with is a single entry visa. When you go to the immigration office in Korea to register and apply for your Alien card tell the person you deal with that you want to apply for a multiple re-entry visa. (They may even ask you if you want one beforehand because they asked me before I asked them)

You will need this if you are planning to leave Korea to go to say Thailand during your school's holidays. The multiple re-entry permit is free for UK citizens.

When you go back to immigration to collect your Alien Card check in your passport and on the page adjacent to your visa there should be a slip of paper stuck in there with "Re-entry Permit" on it. It will say your name, DOB, etc on it and the words: Good for Multiple re-entry into the Republic of Korea until etc...

Any questions, please PM me.
