I've been playing for a few hours, and it seems OK...and I like RPGs...but, I read it takes at least a million hours to finish, and, is there a PAYOFF? Kotor I and II had nice payoffs, and only took about 50 hours to complete, for instance.

Its fun, I played it for a couple of days. Then I got uber fast walking boots and became a good enchanter and became uber rich. I also got some wierd armour which made me practically invincible (it was glassy) with the challenge gone I got bored.

If you want RPG then get

Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines
Fallout 1 & 2
System Shock 2

Planescape: Torment is a badass RPG, but it's a few years old. Excellent story, and you can actually talk your way through most of the big battles instead of fighting if you want.

That is interesting. It's rare to find a game where brains as well as brawn can get you through.

I'll check out those other RPGs as well. I'm on an Xbox console so my choices are severely limited.

Well with the exception of Vamp those games are all old and would work on any comp u could buy here. I play Fallout at school Smile

As for Xbox specific, Jade Empire is good, on par with KOTOR and a very similar style (In terms of UI) also Fable isnt bad but it is quite short. Ultimately, your gonna be downloading Morrowind so they aint ne harm in trying it Smile That way you can get all excited about Oblivion which is coming out in about 4months and looks mind blowing.

I love morrowind.. The big pay off about the game is that you become a virtual god afterwhile with the pc version and expensions the game is over 100Hours long easily maybe more. You will end up maxing out all your stats before you finish all the quests. There is also a huge community for the game giving you all kinds of little expansion pack and user made content.

Torment is awsome as well I unfortunatley never finished it. I have to some day.
