This is probably a retarded question, but how can I get my avi movie files from my laptop to another laptop? What's the easiest way?
I have no memory stick, but I have a cd/dvd burner. I tried several conversion programs with no luck.
I need really dummed-down directions, pretty please. |

"Several conversion programs"?
I have no idea where to begin except to suggest that you are making this a lot harder than it has to be.
1. Use the software of your choice (Nero/Roxio/or XP's built in burning feature) but select DATA as the type of disk you'd like to make (NOT video). You got a laptop with a burner, and you got a CD-R or two? Then you have all you need.
2. Assuming both laptops have lan jacks, buy (or get someone to make) a crossover cable. |

the crossover is probably the best you'll do, especially if the avi files are too big to fit on one cd. you could find a program to split them if you have to.
but crossover is the best idea. |

No conversion needed. Burn to a CD or DVD (Nero works fine). Just a question...When you say you had no luck, do you mean they won't work on the other computer? If so, you would need to download the appropriate codecs on the second computer. |
