|

I have a feeling I am going to get nailed with a few tickets from the stupid Pangyo IC. They seem to have it set up to go from 100 to 60, then back to 80. And you just barely see the 60 sign before the camera zaps you, too. I can't see why they do this, other than to trap people and make money. It seems to all happen just about the time I, as a new driver here, and scrambling to figure out what the hell turn I am going to take.
My GPS unit warns me of some cameras, but I am often too occupied reading exit signs before I catch these often drastic drops in speed, and the warning from the GPS.
Scared to look in my mailbox. |

they are not speed cameras its to monitor traffic there,, that bottle neck can get real bad on peak hour. people crossing over from the 100 to bundang and people lining up from seoul to exit at pangyo makes it real busy and backed up at times.. im sure its just there to monitor the road
I doubt very much you will get a ticket..
the only real speeding camera I know of in our neck of the woods is the one on the 61 past seongnam before the gaepo exit.. that ones flashes! |

Sorry I guy but thats faulty information!
My wifes uncle got a bunch of speeding tickets on various roads and highways in Korea (he travels all the time because of work). His tickets were from automated cameras all over the place.
So..to the OP..you might get speeding tickets in the mail...sorry! |

go to one of the local automotive stores. You can purchase the camera proof licence plate cover for about 10,000 won. Prevents those pesky overhead cameras from being able to take a picture of your licence plate |

| Yes, 4 in the past 3 months. 2 unexpected south of Osan in 50 and 60 zones. But 2 more or less expected on the Incheon airport road - 126 and and 146. That's gonna hurt. |

Haven't got one yet. I have my entire drive sussed out camera-wise...I could do it in my sleep.
Have you all seen the new ones? Very high up...almost out of sight unless you are looking where you really can't in a typical driving situation. Still, they are marked with a sign telling of their being there, but easy to miss...guess they are counting on that. |

yeah but many of the cameras are not speeding cameras.. they are to monitor traffic.. I mean how can the small cameras know you are speeding? there is no signal thingy or lights.. usually the speeding cameras have a box attacted to it... the cameras high up are have to be to monitor.. how could they read your plate..
ohh and grotto.. those plates dont really work do they? I heard about them but I also heard they dont actually work.,. could do what the truck drivers do.. get thge cds in the dash..
I have bent my front plate so far down I doubt any camera can see it.. |

Well, you could go the GPS route, as I have mentioned in another thread. Gosh, I love that thing, and it not only beeps at me, I can see them coming as a big "!" sign on the map.
The one at the Pangyo exit that freaked me out wasn't on it, though, so maybe it isn't actually a speeding camera. I am not sure. I guess I will find out in a month. |

| I've got a GPS, but I don't bother using it anymore. It's annoying as hell, plus it warns of the cameras that are obviously fake. Besides, it's pretty unnecessary now that most cameras are advertized in advance. |

| Nope. No speeding tickets. But watch out for those 'No Parking' signs that are enforced only on alternate Tuesdays in months that end in 'y' if it is raining. Those can be a killer to anyone's budget. |
