Howdy,
I hearby declare this silly question day. ^^
My first question is: I am headed to SoKo at the end of July and I would like to bring some flower and veggie seed packets with me. I know that we can't bring plants over but what about open packets of seeds? Has anyone done this?
My second question is: Has anyone ever seen a used book store with loads of English books? I didn't see one when I was in Seoul last year but I didn't see a soccer game either.
My third question is: Since it is possible for a foreigner to open up a business in SoKo why are there not lots of neat little shops, like used book stores, and other shops that would cater to foreigners needs? Yes, I know it is good to immerse oneself in another culture but shucks...
I dont' think any of these questions are silly but I sure would like to see some silly question postings. ^^
Until next time,

I can do the second question Kate, there are 2 used bookstores in Itaewon. One is on the road towards the Namsan tunnels. If walk towards Yongsan Garrison on the north side of Itaewon (the KEB Bank side) and keep following the sidewalk you'll stumble upon its near a range rover dealership and an italian resturant.
The second one is Abbys Book Nook a little harder to find. On the south side of the street walk past Burger King headed east and take a right at the fire station go up the hill and when you hit the school take a left, walk past the mosque and where the road forks go right, its on the right
don't know about the others |

Now I'm flying high. Thanks RF. I think I'm headed to Busan though. I should have mentioned that in the original post. Silly me.

there are also 2 used bookstores near Dongdaemun stadium. Cross the street from the stadium, turn right walk until the corner (past migliore etc), then turn left. Lots of little shops along this stretch, the English bookstores are past the pedestrian overpass. |

Well Kate,
Q1: Seed packets could be stopped and confiscated by customs upon arrival if you declare them or of they find them. They will at least want to make sure what you are bringing into Korea as far as plants go. Thats standard.
Q3: This little store catering to foreigners needs would need to be very well located and stocked. I don't know how much of a real market there would be for most of these goods can allready be found in Seoul or Busan. |
