|
|
I just read JRjr's thread and thought I'd start one of my own about my run-ins with crazy Koreans or more politically correct mentally challenged persons of Korean nationality.
JR did the right thing if we were back home, but here...Koreans really don't like to deal with anyone who is "crazy". They basically have free rein amoung the streets as in police probably will not get involved. I've had to deal with plenty so here's my advice:
Don't look them in the eye when confronted, brush'em away, keep walking. This is important: DON'T STOP!. I was walking down one crowded alley when one guy came up to me with crusty snot under his nose and all down the front of his shirt. He took hold of my arms like he had something important to say and started rattling off. I just slowly lifted his arms off me and kept saying in the most polite Korean, "I know, I know" then whipped out my phone and pretended to check messages and kept on walk'n.
Luckily this fella didn't put up a fight. If you've ever seen where these people are shipped off to...man, it's something else. I stumbled upon one when riding my motorcycle down some mountain roads. Looks like a small school with a large yard for'em to walk around unsupervised. They were outside the "school", on the road and one guy enjoying himself in broad daylight as I passed and same thing as I passed by again over 2 hours later.
Koreans really don't like to deal with those who are not "normal" such as handicapped, deformed, deaf, "crazy". There are even little towns or villages for them to live in and only for them. Times are changing as they are ssslloowwwlly becoming more accepted. There's even a handicapped gentleman practicing kumdo which shocked the hell outta me! Nicest guy too. |

After many episodes dealing with knuckleheads at my wife's bar, my advice is just don't leave any marks. My tactics involve lots of pushing to the floor/ground, with some dragging thrown in (generally to the curb).
And forget calling the cops. They are actually worse than worthless. They only make the situation more f'ed up. |

Problem is alot of the time the police don't know if the dude is actually crazy or just drunk.
Read about the drunk guy who went to the the hospital? (not a riddle.) They let him roll around on the ground for 30 minutes and then he died. |
