Hey everyone!
I took a job working at an English Village. They're having trouble getting all of us teacher to Korea because the Ministry of Justice refused to issue the confirmation numbers until the official opening ceremonies of the school which was Decmeber 29th. Then after all the papers and stuff were submitted it added up to being to late to mail them to all the consulates in time. So they're trying to get us out there on a C2 VISA and then do a VISA run to Japan (on their expense of course).
I was told they're going to fax over the temporary contracts to the consulates and the letter that I need will come later.
My question is. Just in case I don't get any VISA in time. I know I can go to Korea for 30 days on no VISA but will I get past customs on a one way ticket?
i'm worried I won't get my C2 VISA in time because they want to mail everything directly to the consulates and my consulate is being very very uncooperative. They won't take anything unless it is all together. So i'm worried that they won't take the letter that I need to the C2 VISA if it's sent directly to them.
I know someone is going to say I shoulsd try and contact someone and get them to send it to me instead of the consulate. That's a no go. They're hiring an entire teaching staff at once and I seem to be the ONLY ONE with a consulate staffed by people with sticks up their asses.
So the ultimate question is. Can I go to Korea on a one way ticket? (keeping in mind that I can stay as a visitor for 30 days with no VISA) |

| I did it so you probably can. Came here last April with a one way ticket and a tourist visa. |

| What country are you from? Air canada would not issue me a 1 one ticket to Korea. They made me buy a return ticket as well. I refunded as soon as I arrived though (took 4weeks to be re-imbursed) |

| If that happens to you again just go to the Air Canada office in Seoul and you can get an instant refund(on your credit card) from there. |

| I"m from the US (NYC) I will be leaving this Thursday from JFK. I've never been to Korea before so i'm a little worried. Jaygee, you did it before that's cool. What country are you from. I'm not flying Air Canada so I can't say i'm going to have the same experience as skconqueror. Actually I just got my "one-way" ticket in the mail yesterday. |

Once you are over here it is up to the school to get off their arse and get your paperwork done.
If things don't work out, and they are too stupid/useless to get you your VISA...you can always go somewhere else and find a job.
Finding a job while your in Korea is no problem. |
