Im so excited to be visiting my home in California after being here in Korea for a year and a half! This is the best destination I can think of for my vacation, though I still yearn to see another country while Im out.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for making a stop in a country while on my way to California? Hopefully not adding much price to my plane ticket.

Also, does anyone know of any awesome deals for flying to America in Feb.

Thanx! Home sweet home... and pastrami sandwiches.. here I come!

Many flights to the U.S. have a stopover in Japan.. maybe you could make it into a layover.

Or Taipei. or Manilla.

Or, go the long way round, via Europe or Africa.

ty for the input. I found that the cheapest option is a stopover in Tokyo. Ive been to Osaka and really enjoyed it. Cant wait to see Tokyo.

Japan and the Marshall Islands are between here and mainland U.S.

The Philippines or Taiwan is a lateral move.

Nothing else could be construed of as "on the way" to California unless one goes the loooooong way. (It just seemed like an odd thing to ask.)

One could do southeast asia and get a cheap flight from bangkok or hong kong to the U.S.

Born in SoCal, raised in North Cali. I dont get what you think is a joke? That I miss my home or that I like pastrami.

possibly hawaii?

not sure how much it would add to the ticket. check with airlines in seoul. some airlines over free stopovers; others don't. for example, i went from seoul to europe and had a free stopover in kula lumpur on malaysian airlines. maybe hawaiian airlines has a similar deal. jal or asiana might let you stop over in tokyo or osaka for free. icelandic airways offers free stopover in iceland in route to london from new york. all depends ...

unfortunately there aren't any that stop through Honolulu.. very unfortunate.

But last year I did buy a ticket on Northwest Air specifically to Honolulu.. and later bought another ticket to Las Vegas on Hawaiian Airlines.

Northwest Airlines had a deal for $550 roundtrip Seoul-Honolulu at the time.
