I was just thinking of a guy I met a few times. Jonny Lee Clary. He interviewed on an Aussie show, 'Enough Rope', last year.

Here is a small portion at the end of the interview.

ANDREW DENTON: You've exchanged one powerful set of beliefs for another. You talked earlier, when you joined the Klan, about how you hadn't belonged to anything, suddenly you did. Do you feel like you belong to something now?

JOHNNY LEE CLARY: Yeah, I feel like I belong to the human race. I feel like I belong to... I could do something that's gonna make a difference. And when I leave this world, I just want to leave some kind of legacy so someone can say, "Yeah, he was a guy who did some wrong, but he did something about it to try to make up for it." I been doing this for many years and I know the dangers of these groups. And I know now why I walked the road that I walked. And it's because now, it's because of who I used to be, that I get this opportunity to be the person I am today.

He used to be a leader of the KKK in the USA. If you want to see the whole transcript, check out:

Here is my question, "If you could leave just one lasting, impacting legacy in the world when you are gone, what would it be? What would you like to change, give or do that will make a difference?"

OK, as for mine, i could probably name several.

I have a friend working to help kids trapped in things like prostitution, drugs, sex trade and a few other vices in Asia. He was a lawyer and gave it up to just go live with these people and help them in various ways.

I would love to be a part of something that would reach out to people whose lives are totally ruined through such things. Something that could continue on after I am gone. There is always a need for such things and they are likely to only get worse.

That and be a sports superstar. Passed that one up though. Unless I take up lawn bowls or something.
