We tried and tried to find something like this in Korea, then gave up and imported this one via ebay. It's your basic two-channel baby monitor. The receiver takes a 9-volt battery, or has a jack for a 9-volt adapter (not included). The transmitter can't take a battery; it must be plugged in. It's 110 volts input only, so you'll need a stepdown transformer, or you can buy ours (we have an extra one lying around).
We didn't test the extreme limits of the range, but we can carry the receiver out in front of our (low) building and still hear the crying! There's a little bit of background noise from radio interference, but that's to be expected, and you can choose the quieter of the two channels.
Here's a pic:

price:
25,000 (30,000 shipped) without the transformer
30,000 (40,000 shipped) with the transformer
We'll ship it, or you can pick it up in east Seoul. pm, post, or email monkslut at hotmail dot com |
Baby monitors made to foreign specs can cause problems, but if there is no equivalent on the local market, well, do what you gotta do.
