I'm not a real teacher, Im a hack. Even so, I long to read a real education journal article. Please pick a good one out and post it here Make it relevent to us so that we may see exactly what we are missing being hack teachers.

Several from the University of Birmingham, in England.

I like this one as a review of PPP, the grammar teaching method of "Present, practice, produce.'

There are several journals for EFL teaching in Korea, though I don't have them at my fingertips at the moment.

Hi, you posted left wing multicultural sewage form the UK. I think that is all that is left there. ESL teachers aren't real teachers, they're hacks that drink and chase women. These are hack articles, I wanted a professional journal article. Teachers usually = commies so maybe I can't expect much anyway, just more propaganda.

Sounds like a troll. But if you are really interested in setting your sights a little higher try this:

or you could look at this:

If you are interested in a science of teaching look here, there are many links to take you elsewhere:

If you are happy being a hack teacher then you really are missing out. Being a really good teacher is a blast. Having a whole classroom participating and enjoying your lesson is reward in itself. I enjoy what I do and so do the kids. I am really good at it because I have worked to be good and I do not entertain. Sadly though, you are right, there are a lot of hacks passing themselves off as teachers.

Well said. This really highlights that teaching is a job that largely depends on what you do.

You can be a hack here if you want but ultimately you are wasting your time and your students time. Your time because years of experience as a hack don't improve your lot. They just ad up like so much lost time.

Then again, some people are perfectly happy being hacks and goofing off until they wake up and see they have wasted x-number of years and have nothing to show for it except a bit of change in the bank.....

Real teacher = degree plus professional licensure. Hack = guy with a degree. I'm a hack but I'm mature enough to know when I'm really bad and when I'm over my head. Having a good time in class does not equal teaching or learning. I'd like proof my students are learning but I'm not certain how to do that. Repeating what the teacher says is a base-level education form and while that has its place, it doesn't impress me.

As a hack, I suppose I should be happy with that as it approaches my level of competence but I'm not happy with that. I want more proof.
