If you're talking about SpyBot - Search and Destroy, mine is working alright. I would tell you to change the server where you're trying to update from, but you can't even open the program, right?
Maybe you can try from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
p.s. I have XP as well and am using IE(usually). |

i've heard some nastier spyware programs prevent certain spyremoval programs from operating. YOU might want to try another spyware program. like webroot or spy doctor. or even the free microsoft anti spyware program. |

thats what happened, it deflected all attempts to connect or upgrade with spybot.
Adware SE never found it. Microsoft Anti-spyware found it though. |

So, is everything okay now? If not, give "Stinger" a go...great little program to find the nasty trojans. I also recommend creating an account at www.cybertechhelp.com - they're a little slow in responding, but they can clear up almost any problem you may have. |

I was looking to downloading it and it required validation.. I am not using a legal copy of XP so would it pick up on that? I have Adware but ran into trouble with the browser hijacking using IE.. but if the OP is using Mozilla then i want to download it.. |
