Just a note for those of you who don't have a current Korean calendar -

There are only 10 weekdays that are red this year.

ALL the rest are on the weekends (which means you don't work anyway). If you look at an offer that says 12-14 holidays they are counting the weekend red days but you are off anyway and don't get paid for them or get another day off in lieu.

Sorry to tell you, but any contract that is trying to include national holidays in the calculation of vacation days you receive in the agreement, is a bad contract anyways. The standard ESL contract in Korea gives 10 days of vacation (though the law states that it should be 12 days), PLUS all national holidays (the "red days" Laughing ), PLUS 3-4 days of sick leave. That means that this year, you should be up for about 24 days off BY LAW. You're getting screwed if you aren't getting what I just outlined above.
