|
|
I'll tell you something interesting that I learned the other day.
Kyonngi-do often uses recruiters to hire for their many public positions, however they are now only paying about $700 to $800 to recruiters who fill them. And they don't pay until the teacher successfully completes the contract. Some recruiters I know are now thumbing their noses at Kyonngi-do and not placing people for them, or giving them much priority.
This is why the recruiters -- more than ever -- will try to place you in something else first. |

*shakes head*
Gyeonggi-do just seems determined to run their own program into the ground. |

Sounds like they're trying to get a bulk discount for placements. As for not paying, i think all recruiters should take half on delivery, half at 6-months in.

Wow!... having to wait a year is as bad as travel agent's commissions.
What happens to the recruiter's commission if the teacher bails before the contract is completed? |

Who cares?
If recruiters actually did some follow up work with their "clients" then things would probably be alot better.
Recruiters sell you off asap and then laugh all the way to the bank. |

They don't get paid.
See why recruiters are avoiding them, using the public school name for advertising purposes, and pulling a bait-and-switch on teachers by offering hagwon jobs instead? |

LOL... yeah!
I was just curious as to whether recruiters got a percent of their 'commission' tied to the percent (number of months) of the contract actually completed. Considering the turnover I've seen, if a recruiter gets nothing unless the contract is completed, he/she would have to place six-eight people to get paid for one.
Oh, to hell with them. I figure my recruiter spent a grand total 20 minutes on me to collect somewhere between 1 and 1.25 mil... and then 'misplaced' the first transcript I sent (and accused me of not including it in the package with the other docs.)... f'n moron! |

According to a recruiter I spoke to, there is not much turnover in the public school jobs.
I find that difficult to believe, knowing others who have left. |

I think it's true for public high school jobs (at least in my school district). However, the turnover has been phenominal at my public, year-round, English Immersion Day-Camp. The problem is: the 'powers that be' are using a recruiter who has been placing psychos - I'm refering to true mental illness here - along with 'backpackers' who have no intention of completing their contract (they only want to make enough to continue their 'worldly adventures'). |

I can concur completely with what CM is saying (I work in a HS / MS in the same district). Their latest addition seems like an all right guy, but I'm not sure what the middle school and elementary kids will think of his tongue ring. |
