|

Hey all,
I just signed up for this board, and have lots of questions!
I will be making my first trip overseas, teaching in Gwangju. Very excited, and a little apprehensive about the culture in Korea, but overall very very excited!! I think you'll read a lot of me over the next month on this board.
All my stuff is pretty much ready to go, and I take off from the Maritimes on Febuary 26th.
My first question is this:
I just sent all my information to my recruiter for my e-2 visa application on January 19 cia DHL express. He will then fill out the info and send it back to me whereas I have to apply and send more info to the korean consulate in Montreal. Should I be worried that it won't arrive in time before February 26th? I'm just a little nervous because it's my first time heading east |

If you sent your stuff on the 19th of Jan. via DHL...you will have no worries getting your visa back by the 26th of Feb.
Unless someone out there is sleeping on his desk of course..
Or if you forgot to send some documents or sent the wrong ones...
Typically, visa processing takes roughly 3 weeks so that leaves you plenty of time. |

Will I get it back from the recruiter in three weeks?
That only leaves my a week and a half to send it to Montreal....should I be worried? |

No,
The 3 -weeks includes all of the processing.
Step A: You sent the stuff to your recruiter and he or she processes your application in Korea.
Step B: You get the stuff back and send it to the consulate in Montreal.
Here turn around time is about 48 hours + mailing time.
Step C: You get it all back.
A, B and C = about 3 weeks (sometimes less). |

Thanks for spelling it out man... like I said, I'm new at this!
One more thing...It says that they don't take Purlator or Fed-ex to the Consulate...do they take DHL?
Thanks again,
