I'm looking for an English-speaking pharmacy. I went to a fairly large-sized one near my place and asked for a laxative, Metamucil, and they told me they didn't have it. I am surprised as it's a common over-the-counter laxative. The assistant looked up the internet and she said she knew what it was, it is a fiber-containing laxative, but she said they don't have it, even under a different brand name. I'm pretty sure they do ... I'm annoyed because of the language barrier and I think Koreans depend too much on Korean websites which don't have as much information as English websites but they tend to think if it's not on a Korean website it doesn't exist -- downside of high internet connectivity rate -- closeminded and provincial thinking. |

I know of 4, and there are probably many more.
One is on B1 in the Yonsei building, opposite Seoul Station.
A second is on B1 in the PoongLim building, about 300 metres east of Kangnam station, south side of Tehran Ro.
A third is in Itaewon(-ish)- take the road up the hill from gate 3 towards the Hyatt and it's about 200 metres on the left.
The fourth is on B1 at the airport.
Edit - there's a fifth opposite the hospital in Hannam-dong. |

Metamucil, and a similar colon fiber product are both available at Hannam supermarket ( the colon fiber in the market, and the metamucil at the black market (Dandy's) on the left as you go into the market).
You can find info about how to get to the supermarket in the FAQ, I think. |

Has anyone seen Metamucil (or any brand or bulk psyllium husk) anywhere else? |

Learn Korean and use the Korean internet to find what you want or translate the English web sites for the Koreans. Why on earth you expect a Korean pharmacist to rely on English web sites is beyond me. Also can you prove the English web sites are better than Korean with more information? or is this just speculation on your part?

Perhaps you should consider this statement a little more closely and take a look in the mirror. |

You need a laxative? Most people seem to be stuck to the can when they get there! |

You can get one of those electronic toilet seats. My wife tells me the reason they are so popular in Korea is that it will loosen up your insides if you let yourself be 'squirted' for a while.
You could also get some of those non-pasteurized yogurt drinks.
Or just eat a lot of kimchi. |

I find bulk-forming fiber to be quite useful in both directions... |

All-Bran and Fiber One and the like...it's just not the same experience! There is nothing like a perfectly-formed, perfectly-firm movement with the assistance of psyllium. TP becomes optional. |
