I read two postings today which mention "Saskatchewan" and that got me thinking about who/how many people here are from the Finest Province in Confederation. Came here from Saskatoon; born in Kindersley. Anyone else? (I think I have a cousin over here somewhere, too, though I am not sure)

My mother's family is from Saskatchewan. As all my relatives scattered across the country and around the world say, it's a great place to come from.

I'm not from that fine province but I have a co worker who is. Say's the cold is absolutely horrible...something like 60 below? Korea is balmy compared to that iceberg!

My family is all from Saskatchewan (as long as we've been in Canada, anyway.) My mother's from Moose Jaw and my father was from Melville. His father was from Radville, and his father was the Sheriff of Radville. Ol' Joe (my great-grandfather) was a member of the KKK and was given the post of Sheriff for being the meanest son-of-a-bitch in Radville. I heard some great stories about him at my grandmother's funeral last year, include the legend of Ol' Joe vs. Strangler Louis. My maternal grandparents still live in Moose Jaw, and take me on tours of the kitchy little attractions. The mineral spa is quite nice, admittedly.

I was born in B.C., but lived all but five years of my life in Saskatoon. I think my family is quite possibly the only people in history to have moved from B.C. to Saskatchewan. I love Saskatchewan and can't wait to go back.

I was born in Regina but we didn't stay long...my father had been transferred there by the Bay...he hated Regina so much that he quit his job, packed his three kids in the VW bug...with the youngest snuggled up against the back window (that was me at around 5 months) and got the heck out of dodge....

I have past through since then but nothing my father said has every made me want to stop...though I do hear that Saskatoon is quite nice...

I'm from rural Ontario but my town is exactly like Dog River, Saskatchewan. I love that show... I'm going to buy the dvds when I get back to Canada.

Good to see Saskatchewan made such an impression on VanIslander (I loved the rear-view mirror thing ). It is a wonderful place in many ways I think; lots of space and, if you get into the south-west corner near where I was born, you can actually stumble around for miles on an actual desert! (I pity the poor b@stards who were unlucky enough to draw their homestead lots on that ground).
Where the water is concerned, we in Kindersley liked to brag (and I distinctly recall this as a common topic of discussion when we were changing for hockey games as young lads), that while our water was indeed foul, at least it wasn't yellow like Rosetown water . Saskatchewan; much as I try to get away.....

I am from Speedy Creek. We go back every chance we get. My husband loves it there and talks about moving back.
