I know this guy who has not filed his US tax paperwork since he moved here in 2001.
What is the least painful way to get caught up? Should he go to H&R Block or what?
He has worked at 4 different schools and has made much less than 70K dollars per year.
Please advise.
How many of you Americans on this board are like my friend? |
I didn't bother last year. I just downloaded the tax prep software from Turbotax last month & I'll send it in later when I get my 2004 ones done.
No biggie. |

Its a non issue. US citizens are granted 70,000 in overseas tax free income. Furthermore, you are given credits that can be used based off of your current county's tax rates. I'm waaaay to hungover to go into taxes, but essentially, unless you have some serious stocks and bonds- its not worth worrying about. |

No paperwork needed. At least, I've never been asked for any. |

If you file before the IRS catches you, then you are fine. Most teachers don't own enough assets that the IRS is really going to care anyway. |
